During 2014, Church Trails for Children became a separate Volunteering activity. The East Surrey Area is looking to appoint an Area Church Trails Representative to give support to Societies wishing to create a Church Trail at one of their local churches.

A Church Trail is a question sheet that children have to answer by looking for clues within the church. The idea is to guide children around the church and encourage them to be more aware of the architecture, history and furnishings. The aim is to encourage 8-12 year olds and their families to learn about the building and inspire them to visit and enjoy other churches. Art Society members voluntarily give their time to research and write the questions and corresponding answer sheets. Examples of completed Trails are available as well as a list of suggested questions/answers.
